My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the Most Blessed Sacrament.  I love you above all things and I desire to have you in my soul.  Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally come, at least, spiritually into my heart.  I embrace you as having already come and I unite myself and entirely to you.  Never let me be separated from you.

This is a street artists view of the New 'state of the art' St Vincent's Mission Hub at Solly Street. It houses the University Chaplaincy and is also used as a Diocesan outreach Centre for youth evangelisation. It even boasts of a chic Italian Cafe serving an array of coffees and tasty light bites. It originally was the Victorian boys school which was opened in the 1860's shortly after the Vincentian Order arrived in the city to establish the parish. Mass is once more being said in it's original habitat of Solly Street after a lapse of twenty-four years. Long may it remain that way. The place is utterly transformed. Covid, of course has restricted activities at the venue but gradually things are being normalised. Fr Paddy

WORDS OF WISDOM FROM ST MOTHER THERESA OF CALCUTTA

People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centred. Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies. Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you. Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight. Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous. Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow. Do good anyway
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough. Give the best you’ve got anyway.
You see, in the final analysis it is between you and God; It was never between you and them anyway.
                        Vocations Prayer

Loving and generous Father, it is You who call us by name and ask us to follow you.  In particular, you call some to serve You as ministers in your Church.  Bless our diocese of Hallam by raising up faith-filled and dedicated priests, deacons and religious.  Bless our families and choose from our homes those who are needed for Your Mission. Blessed John Anne: Pray for us.  Blessed Robert Ludlum: Pray for us.  Blessed Nicholas Garlick: Pray for us.  Blessed William Richardson; Pray for us. Mary, Mother of Perpetual Help: Pray for us.
